Doctrine of Humanity

Every thing and every creature in creation reflects an aspect of God’s character, reveals some part of who He is and reveals His glory (Rom 1:20).  However, only mankind could truly be called God’s image bearers because in them, God had chosen to display His character and image the most (Gen 1:26-30; 9:6; Jas 3:9).  Because they bore His image, He commanded humans to be responsible for the earth, and to create a culture which also reflected His image throughout the earth (Gen 1:26-30).  Mankind, reflects the image of God not only in spirit but also in body, and neither part should be overemphasized in regards to God’s image in him (Matt 10:28).
